Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be laundry facilities in Bedlewo?

Yes.

Do I need Polish zlotys or can I get by with a credit card?
There are no ATM machines in Bedlewo but you can use credit card to pay in the Center (e.g. get a beer). If you want to be more independent I recommend you get some small cash. The easiest to get money is at the airport or train station once you arrive. You can withdraw something from an ATM or go to a place called "Kantor" where they exchange currencies. There is at least one at the train station and probably one at the airport. There are many within Poznan which might have better rates. You can also change money in banks but kantors usually have better rates (i.e. I never saw the other way round). Kantors do not charge a commission but they have two rates depending on which way you make a conversion. This page might be useful: http://www.kantory.pl/

How to get here

You have to get to Poznań from which transportation to Będlewo will be organized. The best way if you can do it is to get to Poznań airport. Alternatively you can fly in to Berlin or Warsaw and take train to Poznań central train station.

You can buy the train tickets from Berlin to Poznan online at bahn.de. The system suggests that the tickets should be available 92 days before your trip but it seems that you can only buy them 60 or 45 days before. Indeed, you should be able to get the ticket once you arrive at the station. A discount ticket is 19 Euro, normal price is 38 Euro. Train tickets from Warsaw to Poznan can be bought here. This can be done only 30 days in advance.

If you fly in to Warsaw and take a train to Poznan: From Chopin Airport (WAW) take bus 175 to Central Train Station, about 30 minutes, or take a taxi: see information at the airport webpage. Taxi should cost no more than 10 € (more at night). Trains to Poznań are every 1-2 hours during the day.
